Woodside Wanderers Football Club was set up in June 2003 by a group of like minded parents and volunteers who wanted to offer local children the opportunity to learn, develop and enjoy football in a safe and fun environment at an affordable level and an accessible location.

We currently have opportunities for children from 4 years up to 13 years, with further opportunities for junior coaches and parent volunteers.

Awarded the FA Charter Standard and FA Charter Standard Development Club Awards, our coaches are qualified to a minimum of FA Level 1, which gives them a certificate in Basic First Aid and Child Protection Awareness.

We take our commitment to child Protection seriously; in today's society, parents and carers don't want to send their children to any club, not knowing who is going to be in charge of them or what skills they have, if any and that’s why from day one we insisted all volunteers undertake a Criminal Records Bureau Check, which is now a basic requirement of the Football Association today.

Football is available to boys, girls and adults and we offer goalkeeper specific coaching. We are entering our third year of mentoring junior coaches and a number have gone on to become qualified FA coaches and Referees.

We are committed to furthering the development of our club; our officers are friendly and approachable with a genuine desire to promote an inclusive service to a diverse community. We are proud to have been working with Woodlands Primary School (formerly Woodside Infant and Junior School) since we began and we are looking to develop our links with the community further. We are supported by Madeley Court Leisure Centre, Madeley Parish Council and The Woodside Regeneration Project.
